Re : Information Dissemination on Singapore Archifest ‘11
Our co-member in the Architects Regional Council Asia (ARCASIA) will be holding its Archifest ’11. Now on its 5th year, the Archifest ’11 strives to promote the importance of architecture and urban design, which are playing an increasingly important role in the global competition among cities.
In view of this, the SIA President Ar. Ashvinkumar is inviting the UAP to participate in the Singapore Archifest ’11 which will be held from October 3-20, 2011 by sending our members’ best works for the exhibition.
For submission,
please send, in softcopy, 1 A1 size landscape board layout (in jpg) for each project (Total: 6 A1 landscape board layouts)
include project name, architect name, firm name and contact in the board.
A special email account and server have been provided by SIA secretariat, hence, you may contact the Office of the UAP Secretary General to facilitate the transmission of your works. Deadline for submission in on August 10, 2011.

The Senate Committee on Civil Service and Government Reorganization is set to hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, 9 August 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Sen. Padilla Room, 2nd Floor, Senate of the Philippines, Pasay City to deliberate on the following bills:
SBN 2109: “AN ACT FURTHER AMENDING REPUBLIC ACT NO. 544, AS AMENDED, OR THE CIVIL ENGINEERING LAW” (Introduced by Senator F. Escudero);
SBN 2770: “AN ACT PROFESSIONALIZING THE PRACTICE OF CIVIL ENGINEERING IN THE PHIILIPPINES, REPEALING FOR THIS PURPOSE REPUBLIC ACT NUMBER FIVE HUNDRED AND FORTY-FOUR (RA NO. 544), AS AMENDED, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES” (Introduced by Senator P. Lacson)
In view of this may we invite you to join with us during the said Public Hearing as we share our view and insights on matters which may affect the architecture profession.
